NAAM Conference

The MORA recently joined the National Association of Automobile Museums (NAAM) and had the opportunity to attend NAAMs annual conference in Hershey Pennsylvania.  Board President, Andrew Wagner, and Executive Director, Keith Kodet, spent 4 days touring a multitude of other museums and collections.

On Monday, we toured the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Museum in Hershey which features Cammack Tucker collection.

On Tuesday, we traveled to Washington DC where we attended a panel discussion at the Smithsonian Institution, followed by a tour with the Curator of the America On the Move Exhibition.  We ended the day on the National Mall speaking with the Director of the Historic Vehicle Association (HVA), Mark Gessler, and their work on the Historic Vehicle Register, which includes a rotating display of vehicles in front of the capital building.

On Wednesday we had the unique opportunity to visit the privately owned NB Center, which includes state of the art restoration facilities and over 150 vehicles from the 1920s through the 1960s, most of which are in running condition.

On Thursday, we returned to the AACA Museum for a full day of presentations on varying topics related to the Museum industry.  That evening we enjoyed a banquet where museums were presented with awards for various innovations.
